National Call Breeders of America was formed in 1986 by Ed Cline of
Dalton, GA. The club was formed to encourage increased exhibition of Call
ducks by offering club awards and a Master Breeder program. When the
club was formed there were very few Calls shown in the South and other
areas of the country and Calls received little attention in shows even
where a few were shown.  In the 2002 American Bantam Association
yearbook, Call ducks were fifth in popularity, following closely behind
Wyandottes, Cochins and Rocks.

~Claude McAllister ~

It is with great sadness and empty hearts that we report that
Claude McAllister lost his brave battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s
disease) on Friday, March 14th. A Memorial Service will be held
on March 27th at 4:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church in
Wilmington, North Carolina.  Claude’s passing will leave an
empty void in many people that knew him well.

Claude McAllister has been an avid and enthusiastic supporter
of the National Call Breeders of America and the International
Waterfowl Breeders of America. There was always a particular
soft spot in Claude’s heart for the young poultry enthusiasts and
he was always there to extend a helping hand to promote the
NCBA and the IWBA. There is a long, countless list of other
poultry people whose lives he touched in such a positive way.
We will be working on a fitting tribute to the varied and
interesting life of Claude McAllister to try to capture our
appreciation to this fine and gracious Southern gentleman.
